Spinning Babies® Birth Preparation Class with a Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator (2.5-3 hours)
This class highlights your baby’s active role in birth. During labor the baby needs to pass through the three levels of the pelvis. You and your birth partner can learn techniques to use before and during labor, to help “make room for baby!” Spinning Babies reveals how the baby can find optimal positions for labor, and make birth less painful, and even pleasurable! (This class is for expectant parents only) Baby’s job in labor is to rotate!

The "Must Knows" of Childbirth (2 hours)
Learn the critical information that can help your labor and increase your feelings of satisfaction when it's over. Included will be: basic terminology, signs/stages of labor, a variety of comfort measures to try and positions for labor and pushing.

Caesarean Birth Plan (1 hour)
Planned or unplanned, sometimes a caesarean birth is the best option for mom and/or baby. But that doesn't mean it has to be a sterile experience. It can be a more "baby-friendly" atmosphere when you are prepared. There are many things that you can do to ensure a special and healthy, bonding experience for your partner, you and the baby when possible. So, if this ends up being your "Plan C", then know what your options are.

Lactation 101 (2 hours)
Learn what to expect the first hours, days and weeks after birth. Understand what your support needs will be and all the pros and cons of exclusively chest/breastfeeding. Know how to achieve a correct latch for pain-free nursing and understand when and how to transition to bottle feeding, Learn how to pump, hand express and store your precious human milk.
Cost $100/hr. in person class or $75/hr. via zoom
If you need one on one in-home consultation after your baby is born, I can be by your side in usually 5 hours or less. Billed hourly $100/hr. Invoice provided for insurance reimbursements.

Postpartum & Newborn Care (2 hours)
If you're wondering how to navigate the first 6 weeks of recovery and take care of a newborn, this class is for you. I can give you solid advice to get you back on your feet quickly and with more confidence, while helping you understand what is normal and what to expect. This class covers the basics of infant care and nutrition. You'll get a list of resources to call, if things become more than you can deal with.

Babywearing 101 (1-2 hours)
Let's talk about babywearing do's and don'ts and how to make it work for you and baby. Get the right carrier. Consider which carrier is good for different activities. Trouble shoot issues you have with your carrier and help you to multi-task (ie...breastfeeding while wearing)

Why do I need Childbirth Education?
To shrink the gap
between you and your care provider
Research shows that
when a woman has attended a childbirth education course,
she is more likely to feel confident, less anxious, more prepared and,
rate the satisfaction of the birth experience higher.
She is less likely to have a preterm or a caesarian birth.
And the costs for the birth can also be lower.
(This is also true for having a Doula attend your birth)
